Have you heard about my new Recovery Starter Kit available to you for free?! If you'd like to get your hands on it, sign up to my E-mail list here and you will receive it in the welcome E-mail.
This starter kit can be helpful to anyone regardless of where they're at in their recovery journey. If you're at the beginning of recovery, this is a great place to start. If you've been working in recovery, this can help to reinvigorate your journey. There's no better time than now to commit (or re-commit) to your recovery. But, commitment is hard. In order to truly commit to something and follow through with the hard actions needed, we need to get clear on our why. What is your why? Your why = Reasons you want to recover Ask yourself why do you want recovery? Is there a person you want to recover for? Is there a feeling you want that you can only get in recovery? Do you want to feel excitement on your birthday instead of anxiety about the calories in your birthday cake? Do you want the worry to leave your parents eyes whenever they see you struggle in your Eating Disorder? Do you want to recover so that you can be a role model for your future children? Your why doesn't have to be just one thing. Your why can change and it will change. Your list will be ever-growing if you challenge yourself. Continue to ask yourself this - what is my why? Write down all your reasons you want recovery and continue adding to this list every time you encounter new reasons! Don't just put this list to the side to gather up dust. The most effective way to use this list to your advantage is to continue reminding yourself every day why you want recovery. Some ideas to make this list even more effective is to hang it up somewhere you see often, share this list with others so they can remind you also, repeat them to yourself using the structure "I want recovery because/for _____" or challenge yourself to add a new reason daily! This list can help you, especially when times get tough. Recovery is messy and not an easy route. If you know your why, it can help you to keep moving forward in recovery. Your why can help fuel your motivation even when you feel like giving up. It's not fool-proof, but reminding yourself of your why is super helpful on your recovery journey! I would love to hear about your why! Feel free to share it with me here, DM me on Instagram or send me an E-mail! I wish you and your family health and wellness on your way to finding your State of Balance! You can also check out my YouTube channel for more inspiration!
